Why HEAL Collective Exists

of searching.

HEAL Collective was founded by Vinod Patel, a Nutrition Health and Lifestyles graduate who qualified as a personal trainer in San Francisco in 2003 and spent years working alongside clinical researchers at UCSF. Chronic foot pain began the same year, and never fully resolved.

In 2024, fibromyalgia, chronic lower back pain and tennis elbow left him unable to walk, sit or sleep for any meaningful period. More than £30,000 across physiotherapy, shockwave, steroid injections, chiropractic, bioresonance, genetic testing, supplements, meditation and yoga retreats across four countries, without resolution. Long COVID had followed in 2023, compounding what had already been two decades of chronic foot pain.

The combination that actually moved the needle was PEMF, red light and Neubie, alongside lifestyle foundations and close nutritional monitoring. He has made significant improvements, is working part time and is about to open HEAL Collective. The studio takes an integrated approach to recovery, combining technology, movement and nutrition rather than treating them as separate disciplines.

The Neubie is a modern direct-current neuromuscular stimulation device. It builds on the wider field of electrotherapy and neuromuscular re-education but applies it in a more targeted, practitioner-led way. Most conventional electrical stimulation devices use alternating current. The Neubie uses pulsed direct current, which interacts differently with nervous system signalling. Most approaches to movement and recovery are output-based: stretch harder, try harder, push more. The Neubie works on the input side. Change the signal the nervous system receives, and the output can change.

Calm, private and unhurried. We will spend a few minutes understanding how you are feeling and what you would like to focus on before the session begins. Shorts and a T-shirt are usually best for all sessions. PEMF can be completed fully clothed, but lighter, comfortable clothing is ideal.

01 Sleep

Consistent sleep and wake times, a cool dark room, a wind-down that doesn't involve a screen. Sleep is the most powerful recovery tool available. It's also free. Most other habits work better when this one is in place.

02 Hydration

Most people are mildly dehydrated most of the time. Water supports cellular function, tissue recovery and nervous system performance. We recommend drinking well before and after every session, and consistently throughout the day.

03 Nutrition

Adequate protein, whole foods, not over-restricting. The body needs raw materials to recover and rebuild. We discuss principles that complement what you're working on in sessions, without turning food into another source of pressure.

04 Breathing

The nervous system responds directly to how you breathe. Slow nasal breathing activates the parasympathetic system, the recovery state. We discuss simple practices that can be used during the day, before sleep, or after high-stress periods.

05 Movement Breaks

Ten minutes of walking, five minutes of mobility, a set of squats between calls. Distributed movement throughout the day does more for recovery than one intense session. The body is not designed to sit for eight hours and then exercise for one.

06 Connection & Purpose

Recovery is not just physical. Time with the right people, meaningful work, laughter, nature and a reason to look after yourself all support the nervous system. We encourage simple habits that reconnect you with what gives you energy, not just what drains it.

Session packs are valid for 12 months from purchase, with a meaningful saving for clients who commit to a course of sessions.

About HEAL Collective
What exactly is the Neubie?
The Neubie, short for Neuro-Bio-Electric Stimulator, is an FDA-cleared neuromuscular electrical stimulation device developed by NeuFit in the US. Unlike many standard electrical stimulation devices, it uses pulsed direct current and is designed to work with the nervous system during guided movement or reset protocols. At HEAL Collective, it is used within a wellness and performance setting to support neuromuscular re-education, movement quality and nervous system regulation.
Is HEAL Collective a medical clinic?
No. HEAL Collective is a wellness and performance studio. We do not diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions. We work with adults looking to support recovery, regulation and performance. Where your needs sit outside our scope, we will say so clearly and refer appropriately.
Can I speak to someone before booking?
Yes. We offer a free 15-minute suitability call before you book. It gives us a chance to understand what you are looking for and helps you decide whether HEAL Collective feels right for you. Request a call via the waitlist form →
Will you offer fitness sessions?
Neubie-supported fitness and movement sessions are launching in autumn 2026. Join the waitlist and we will be in touch when they are available.
Sessions & Safety
What happens on my first visit?
You complete a short intake form before arriving. On the day, we talk through your goals, explain the equipment and guide you through an appropriate first session. The appointment is private and unhurried. You are always in control and can stop or adjust at any point.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing. Shorts and a T-shirt are usually best for all sessions. PEMF can be completed fully clothed, but lighter clothing is ideal. We will let you know if anything specific is needed before your first appointment.
What does a session feel like?
Red light feels warm and passive, like gentle sunshine without UV. PEMF is gentle and non-invasive. Most people find it calming, and many barely notice the pulses. Neubie creates a pulsing electrical sensation adjusted to your comfort level. Nothing should feel painful. If something does not feel right, we stop and adjust.
Is red light suitable for all skin tones?
Yes. Red and near-infrared light therapy is generally considered suitable for all skin tones, including darker skin types. It does not use UV light and does not work by tanning or damaging the skin. We still screen for photosensitive medication and relevant medical history before your first session, and eye protection is provided.
Are there any side effects?
Most people experience no adverse effects. Some may feel mild muscle soreness after Neubie, similar to post-exercise stiffness. Occasionally, people feel tired or light-headed after their first PEMF or reset session. Red light is generally well tolerated and eye protection is provided. If you experience anything unexpected, contact us directly.
Is this suitable for everyone?
Sessions are for adults aged 18 and over. Please tell us before booking if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or implanted electrical device, have epilepsy or a history of seizures, are taking photosensitive medication, have active or recent blood clots, active or recent cancer, or are under active medical care for a significant condition. This does not automatically exclude you, but it means we need to check carefully first.
Is there a maximum weight limit for the treatment couch?
Yes. Currently the massage table has a maximum working load of 150kg. If this may affect your booking, please contact us before arranging your appointment so we can advise honestly and safely.
Is the studio accessible for wheelchair users?
We are sorry, the studio is not currently step-free. The entrance requires going down two flights of stairs and there is no accessible toilet at present. If you have questions about access before making a journey, please email us and we will be as helpful and honest as we can.
Booking & Results
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on why you are coming. Some people come for a single reset. Others use sessions regularly as part of their recovery routine. We will not push you into a package before we understand what you need.
What if it does not work for me?
A fair question. Many people notice something within their first one or two sessions, such as calmer energy, better sleep or reduced tension. Individual responses vary. If you are not noticing any meaningful benefit, we will talk honestly about whether continuing makes sense.
How often should I come?
For active recovery during demanding weeks, weekly sessions may work well. For maintenance, fortnightly or monthly may be enough. For a specific goal, a short initial block can be useful before settling into a longer rhythm.
When can I book my first session?
The studio opens in July 2026. Waitlist members receive priority booking and first access to early access pricing before bookings open more widely.
Do you work with teams or companies?
Yes. We can support teams, founders, busy professionals and workplace wellbeing groups. This can be arranged as a one-off wellbeing day or a more regular recovery option for your team.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Gift vouchers may be available after launch. Email us if this is something you are interested in.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged or deducted from a package. We will always be reasonable and ask for the same in return.
